City Travelers

Jerusalem residents travel the least. Only about 40% of the residents of Jerusalem took a vacation in Israel and less than one-third (31%) went on vacation abroad. Tel Aviv shows the highest rate of vacationers: about 60% vacationed in Israel, and a higher rate of 65% traveled abroad.

One might think that residents of large cities own a private car to use it only on special trips, and usually use alternative means available in cities, such as public transportation, bicycles, taxis, or walking.

Arab men and Haredi women's employment

One of the main factors identified with poverty is the low labor force participation rate or LFPR. One of the Israel's goals as a country is to encourage economic growth and to break the cycle of poverty, and therefore it is making great efforts to increase the LFPR among haredi men and Arab women. Currently, the LFPR for haredi men stands at only 54% and for Arab women 35%.
